I have taught in many capacities throughout my seventeen years of teaching.  I have taught in Savannah, Albany, Valdosta,GA and currently in Houston County.  I have served students as a reading and math remedial education teacher, a math specialist, math, science, and social studies departmentalized teacher, an English, language arts departmentalized teacher, as well as a self-contained teacher of all academic subjects.

In 2013, as a class, my students score above average in reading on the student growth model.  In 2014, I presented to fellow educators across the state of Georgia at the Summer Academy ELA Conference in Albany and Savannah, GA.  I continue to welcome all students in our classroom and have served as the ESOL host teacher for several years.

I am Teresa Martin, a 3rd grade teacher at Lake Joy Elementary and have been teaching for 20 years in Georgia schools!  I am married to my wonderful husband, Wesley (Del) Martin, who is Perry High School's principal, and we have two beautiful and talented daughters who are in the 5th and 7th grade.

As an educator, my goal is to help students see and reach their full potential.  This  process can be achieved with parents, students, and educators working together as a team.  I look forward to meeting and working with each of you to help our students be their best!
